Renovation FAQ

Can I choose fixtures and fittings? Can I provide it myself?
Absolutely - If you want to buy anything directly and provide installation at the right time, we have no objection, but we always recommend customers to choose our suppliers for many reasons, we are confident in the quality and we can manage the shipping better and prices, and any troubleshooting during the renovation is easier because we can be contacted directly.

Do I need to hire other types of workers during decoration?
Generally, we use and trust a long-standing network of suppliers. This just makes decorating a lot less stressful and less expensive. Home renovations typically require 8 to 10 different trades, and if any one of them is unreliable, it affects all the other trades involved. Therefore, if a client wishes to use trades alone, we do not agree to this.

How long does a kitchen renovation take?
Generally a kitchen refurbishment will take place within 5-6 weeks from the date of demolition and this assumes the design is complete and the parts have been manufactured (excluding splashbacks which require additional fabrication time)

How long does a bathroom renovation take?Generally speaking, bathroom renovations need to be carried out within 3-4 weeks from the date of demolition, but if consent is required it can take longer. How to plan house decoration?Start by calculating exactly what you want to complete, then get a detailed scope of work from your renovation company. A full-home renovation can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months, depending on the scope, complexity, and size of the renovation. How much does it cost to renovate a whole house? The average Auckland full house refurbishment (including bathrooms and kitchens) costs between $80,000 and $160,000, depending on the size of the house, building requirements, choice of products/fittings and many factors.Do I need a building permit for my renovation? If you are undertaking building work, you may need to apply for a building permit. For example: Any structural building including new builds, extensions, alterations, outbuildings (sheds) and re-piling changes to the original pipes and drainage system site works on the building retaining walls exceeding 1.5 meters in height, or near the top There is a fence where the retaining wall of a building or driveway is higher than 2.5 meters above the fence and any swimming pool fence where the pool deck is more than 1.5 meters above the ground. If in doubt, we recommend calling your local council and discussing your project with them.
